Brasil Ecodiesel slumps on ANP auctions restriction

Brasil Ecodiesel Industria e Comercio de Biocombustiveis e Oleos Vegetais SA plunged the most in more than four months in Sao Paulo trading after some mills lost government approval to take part in biodiesel auctions. Brasil Ecodiesel, Brazil’s biggest biodiesel maker, dropped 9.3% to 1.17 reais at 4:40 p.m. New York time, for the biggest loss since Oct. 28. Brazil’s Agrarian Development Ministry suspended the so- called Social Fuel Seal for one year at four mills, "implying the impossibility of these units selling biodiesel through auctions" organized by oil regulator ANP, the Rio de Janeiro- based company said today in a statement. The units likely will sell 37'000 cubic meters less this year due to the loss of the seal, the company said.
